Thursday morning we headed to my brother's house in Idaho Falls. It is supposedly about a 5 hour trip and they both had to work so I left at 11 planning a few stops along the way and timing it to get there around 5:30.
Our first stop was at Big Hole National Battle Field. Which was a bust, there were so many misquito's that we were sucked dry the second we got out of the car, and it was a bit of a hike to see anything so we scratched that after getting our national park passport stamped. Then on thru to Wisdom and a slight detour to Dillon. If you ever get the chance to drive thru that way, Wisdom and that valley it's very breath-taking!
In Dillion we hit a Patagonia outlet my brother raved about and then I let the kids play at the park a bit, Audrey hit it off with another little girl right away and with in 5 mins was telling me this other girl was a Christian too! Very cool!
Then we took off for Idaho Falls, about 2 more hours at this point. We were doing great till we were traveling along the base of some mountains and you could see a storm rolling in, then you could see the lightening striking the tops of the mountains, then midway down the mountain. But we were just ahead of it so doing good. But then we hit bugs and my windshield wiper fluid was out and my wipers suck, so I hit a creepy little gas station for a windshield wash and Audrey the bathroom, and it caught us!
OH MY WORD! The lightening was hitting all around us, it was blowing and raining and thundering and crazy! I had been a tad freaked out being by myself at the gas station so I had decided to try and drive thru it, YIKES was that harry! Then we were almost thru and we got huge hail!
Anyway we made it and have a good story to tell.
